Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service constitute a legally binding agreement made between you, whether personally or on behalf of an entity ("you") and ScanSecurity ("we," "us," or "our"), concerning your access to and use of the ScanSecurity mobile application. By accessing the App, you agree that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by all of these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with all of these Terms, then you are expressly prohibited from using the App.

2. App Services and Scope

ScanSecurity provides utility tools to assist with managing your device's security and privacy, including but not limited to:

  • Full device security scanning
  • Breach monitoring for registered credentials
  • Metadata stripping from photos
  • Phishing link detection

The App is provided for informational and utility purposes only. While we employ advanced, industry-standard algorithms to detect threats and strip metadata, we do not guarantee that the App will identify 100% of security threats, phishing attempts, or effectively strip all metadata under every technological circumstance.

3. Subscriptions and Purchases

ScanSecurity offers optional premium subscriptions ("Premium") to unlock full protection and ad-free access. We offer various billing cycles including Weekly, Monthly, Annual, and Lifetime (one-time purchase).

  • Free Trials: Some subscriptions may begin with a free trial period. If you do not cancel before the trial expires, you will be automatically billed for the subscription.
  • Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Payment Processing: Payments will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. You can manage and cancel your subscriptions by going to your App Store Account Settings after purchase.
  • Refunds: Since payments are managed by Apple, any refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple Support in accordance with their terms.

4. User Representations

By using the App, you represent and warrant that:

  • You have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.
  • You will not use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
  • Your use of the App will not violate any applicable law or regulation.
  • You will not use the App to monitor or scan devices or files that you do not own or have explicit permission to audit.

5. Intellectual Property Rights

Unless otherwise indicated, the App is our proprietary property, and all source code, databases, functionality, software, website designs, audio, video, text, photographs, and graphics on the App (collectively, the "Content") and the trademarks, service marks, and logos contained therein are owned or controlled by us, and are protected by copyright and trademark laws.

6. Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT WILL WE OR OUR DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE TO YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFIT, LOST REVENUE, LOSS OF DATA, OR OTHER DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
